WagglePop

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

Has anyone heard of this site? Wagglepop is supposed to be the next big auction site, and since ebay is raising their fees people are moving their stores to other places. Or does anyone know of any other auction sites that are more popular? I am trying to decide if I should move TreasureChes off of ebay, or stick it out with the new higher fees or what. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Dinosaurs

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

Dinosaurs have stupid names. Whoever thought up these names obviously wasn’t thinking that they would be in childrens books. I should not have to struggle to pronounce words in a book that I am reading to Caleb. Stupid dinosaur names include:

Struthiomimus
Pachycephalosaurus
Parasaurolophus
Psittacosaurus
Archaeopteryx
Saurolophus

and those are just some from Caleb’s books. I’m glad we just have the little kid books. I hope he isn’t into dinosaurs when he gets older and beyond board books. I can’t imagine what the hard to pronounce dinosaur names are in the books for big kids.

Peas!

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Ok I know that peas aren’t exciting to most of you. But about a month or so ago I planted some seeds. Some of them grew and today I noticed that I actually have some peas. Maybe I will take a picture of them and put them here for you to see. I only have about 4 right now, but that is way better then the 0 that I was expecting. Hopefully they will grow big enough to eat and we will be able to eat them before the birds or gophers or whatever else is out there has a chance at them.

my peas

I also have tomato plants that are growing, one little squash and a couple of beans (but most of those got eaten by bugs or something.

UPDATE: I picked the good ones yesterday so we each had one at dinner.

Writing

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

I have been writing editing Caleb’s Blog lately and that is a lot easier then writing in my own. It is a lot easier to talk for other people then it is to talk for yourself. With this blog I try to think about my audience when I am deciding what to put up on here. I have a couple of drafts that I have started but haven’t put up yet because I don’t know if people will want to read that kind of thing or not. If people will think differently about me if I write this or that. I know that I have read other peoples blogs and thought…”wow I didn’t know that about them”…”I am surprised they would write something like that”…”why would they want that published on the internet when anyone, anywhere can read it?” But now that I am writing this there will be people with those similar kinds of thoughts probably. So now I have to decide if I care what other people think.

There is a good chance that I won’t ever know anyway since I know that 90% (or more) of the people that read this don’t leave comments so you really have no idea what they are thinking anyway. And the ones that do leave comments don’t usually write their first response, they think out a good way to leave the comment. I have done that. But I am in both of those categories, I don’t leave many comments and when I do leave a comment then I read it over a few times before hitting the submit button to make sure it sounds alright.
So basically expect more writing on Caleb’s blog, because everyone thinks Caleb is cute so I know that no matter what is written there, noones opinion of him will change. But now that you all know that I am the “Editor”…..hmmmm

7-11

Sunday, July 9th, 2006

Ok, there is a rumor going around that on July 11 (7/11), 7-11 will be giving away free slurpees. I tried to look it up and I can’t find anything on the 7-11 site, but people are posting about it on forums and blogs. So, hopefully the 7-11 near you is participating in free slurpee day, I hope the one near us is doing it.
