More Government Control

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

People are always complaining. The goverment has too much control. The government needs to take control.

The Chinese government is no exception. They have a lot of power, yet are still power hungry and want to take control of everything they can. Since they already have control over the Chinese peoples lives they decided to take it a step further. Just to make sure they are in total control China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission. Now that is power. Control peoples lives, and afterlives (is that a word?).

The Dalai Lama has heard about this new law and is taking matters into his own hands, or the hands of his next life. He has decided not to reincarnate in Tibet. Take that Chinese Government, what are you going to do about it?

I know you think I’m making this up, but you can read the story in Newsweek if you want to.

Model

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

There is this new program on google, well new to me anyway, that lets you make a 3d model of a building. So I am doing our new house so I can decide where to put all the furniture before we move. Plus it is fun to do. Click here to check out what I have done so far. It is the first floor of our new place.

The end of Harry Potter

Monday, August 6th, 2007

For those who have read all 7 Harry Potter books and know how it all ends I highly recommend reading this. It is a rather long read so give yourself some time, but it is worth it.

1 more month

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

We signed papers this morning and in a month from today we will be moving into our new house. It is a weird feeling to think that in a month from now someone else will be moving into this house. In a month from now we will be incredibly busy moving but today there isn’t really anything to do. Most of our stuff is already packed and in storage.

There are things that I will miss about this house and am still deciding if there are ways to take things with me. My plants are growing really well. We even have a pumpkin growing from the seeds of our Halloween pumpkins last year. My kitchen faucet is nicer then the one at the new house…can I take that with me? We bought a palm tree toilet seat cover that I would like to take, so i guess we will buy the new people a new one of those. I put in one of these in the kitchen. Should I take it or leave it since it is screwed into the cabinets. The owners before us put in new counter tops and left us the tiles that they didn’t use. They are in the shed. The new owners want us to get rid of the shed. Should we take the tiles for our new fireplace since we were thinking of replacing them anyway or are counter tiles different then ones you would use around a fireplace?

I like the new house, but I don’t want to forget this one.
