There is this new program on google, well new to me anyway, that lets you make a 3d model of a building. So I am doing our new house so I can decide where to put all the furniture before we move. Plus it is fun to do. Click here to check out what I have done so far. It is the first floor of our new place.

Sketchup is cool. Its been downloadable for about 3 years, but looks like they just put it online? Its actually really close to some of the professional programs out there (for 3d modelling) in terms of use, but just doesn’t have the libraries of items that they use. Knowing google though, they will probably add a bunch of stuff to make it even more awesome.
Maybe soon they will make a 2D drawing package to rival AutoCAD and save architects $4000 per license.
Oh, and your model is really good. I especially like the tiles on the fireplace!

Yeah it was cool to see how simple it was to create something like that. It was 100% easier to use than those old 3d-modeling programs I used in school (besides the animation, of course).
I like our new house.
