Last chance

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

The due date is tomorrow. This is your last chance to put in your last minute prediction or baby name. We have 17 predictions for this baby, there were 23 for Caleb. We also have probably less then half as many name suggestions than we did for Caleb so feel free to go crazy with names for this baby.

VBS is this week, I have been telling everyone that the due date is tomorrow. But now I wonder if there will be a bunch of disappointed people if I show up tomorrow, or a bunch of worried people if I don’t.

We are all still wondering who is in there and when they will make their grand entrance. Just remember this is your last chance to get in on the prediction board or suggest a name.

Single Digits

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

I looked at the baby page on our site and saw something crazy. The countdown till the due date of this baby is down to single digits. That’s right, only 9 days till the due date. Crazy.

We (finally) went through the garage last weekend and pulled out the baby stuff that we think we will need. But I don’t really think you are ever fully prepared since you don’t know what this new baby will be like. Caleb never spit up much, so we don’t have many burp rags, what if this baby spits up all the time. Last time we bought disposable diapers, this time some people at my school got together and gave me a months worth of diaper service, so we have watched the videos on how to do the cloth diaper thing and I have kept my eye out on craigslist for cheap covers (if anyone has any they don’t need anymore we are interested), since the service doesn’t include those. Will we love the service and want to continue it or hate it…who knows. Our fist delivery comes tomorrow so maybe Caleb and I will spend the day practicing diapering all the stuffed animals around here. I have washed a bunch of Caleb’s old stuff, but there is still more laundry and cleaning to do since most of this baby stuff has been sitting around for about 4 years. I kept a lot of Caleb’s old clothes, but if this is a girl I might just tape some bows onto some of these clothes and hope that makes them look girly.

We are ready in a lot of ways. Caleb took his “big brother” class at Dominican. It was a great class geared towards 3-7 year olds and I would recommend it to anyone. We had our first childbirth refresher course last night. It was nice to get in the mindset of the whole thing again. And I remember thinking the breathing stuff we learned was surprisingly helpful with Caleb, but when it was time to practice again it still felt cheesy and weird. Hopefully this baby will wait till the due date since we still have one more class to go. The bassinet is out, although it is full of other stuff right now. The boppy has been found (Yea!) and cleaned so that is a good thing. And Caleb has told just about everyone that we are having a girl named Sawyer…whether that is true or not has yet to be determined.

So 9 days is sounding very soon, but that also means we have to wait 9 more days to find out who is in there.
